Well, I see I have two new followers, Judy and Charlotte. Welcome to come along. If I ever get going maybe I will be able to post something that will be worth your time, LOL.
I am glad I took some time last week to "dress up" my place. I learned a long time ago to have a backup plan. This time it paid off :)
Good news! The man from the tire shop came by today to see what could be done about my situation. He decided I did have enough clearance to use the 875 x 16.5 (I had had 800 x 16.5) tires so that would save me buying different wheels for now. I will also have him check the suspension while the wheels are off.
Meanwhile here are some pictures from home..... This was the view from my front porch last week before I left Thursday morning. It seems these birds knew it was close to harvest time.
As the fields were harvested the in next few days, I went today for a ride down through the farm on the ATV for the first time since the corn was 6" high. This is what I saw ........

The fields, relieved of their abundant harvest and finally at rest.

JW's tractor with the bush-hog standing ready to trim the fence rows and water-ways of weeds.
I love the slightly rolling lay of the land......

I stopped to check the pond in the middle field where the cattle used to drink....

As I headed down through the lane to the bottom 30, I came upon this flock of wild turkeys. Can't see them?

How about now?

Looking across to the wooded area on the other side, I spotted this
beautiful deer. By the look of the body build I would bet it is a buck

Just too masculine looking for a doe, don't you think?

Then down by the lower pond where a dead tree had fallen into the water. What is that on the log??

Oh, yes.... Mr. Turtle.

Some may wonder why I would ever want to leave this beautiful place and galavant across the country. I don't have an answer, except that its my dream and I want to follow it.
Have a good week and thanks for stopping by!
Those are lovely pictures. I can hardly wait to see those your dream brings us.
ReplyDeleteYes, loved the pictures. That beautiful place will be waiting for you, but so are so many yet to be seen beautiful places!!!
ReplyDeleteNow that's a real mob of black birds!
ReplyDeleteFall is surely leaving it's mark on those corn fields !

I'm glad they found something that will save you some money! The pictures are great, I love it out there like that. I understand completely why you want to get on the road and hopefully you'll be able to do so soon.

Oh what a fabulous trip - and right in your own backyard. And now you can look forward to many more trips - away from the back yard - enjoy!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots sis! God really blessed you on your ride! Then He blessed us with you sharin those pictures!
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear about your tires. That will save you some money.
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful place to return to. I know why you need to go. Been there. Enjoy your trip and many more if you so wish.
Purdy awesome pictures! I can't believe all the wildlife you saw on your little tour. Good gracious! I can sure understand the attraction for being there at this time of year.
ReplyDeleteBut, soon, the winds will howl, the snow will fall, the temperatures will drop, ...more snow will fall and be whipped into a frenzy, the house will shudder and creak under the forces of winter, pipes will freeze, neighbors with large snow removal equipment will come, autos will be stuck and life will come to a struggling standstill as things creak slowly to a stop and you will be oh, so glad that you, your dog and your RV will be in much warmer climates where you can continue your painting outside in the warmth of the sun and awesome temperatures and the beautiful scenery of mountains and cacti, coyotes, wild birds, javalinas, elk and mule deer graze freely, birds which have migrated south using good common sense, flitting outside your windows and you have great friends and family to welcome you! Ah – this will be your reward!
Don't wait too long, don't get caught in that dreadful snow and ice and freezing temperatures!!! Come where you can do plein air painting all winter long. Come where you can enjoy evening patio chats beside a small fire dancing in the darkness… Now, you can see it all coming true! Right now your dreams hunger to be satisfied and fulfilled!
And better than all of that, you will be... with me...
Oh great news on the tires -- what a relief that's got to be - Whew!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics. a nice day out, a nice day to be out with nature & they rewarded you with their presence. And it's heartening to know that a farmer had a good successful year since the drought has hit so many others so hard. Our country needs the good crops of course.
Were those grackles? We have a lot of them here. The males are black, the females are brown.
I'll be looking forward to seeing you off on your trip once you get on the road! Cyber wise of course
;-)
