Well, I made it through my late husband's birthday (Sept 7th) okay. I wasn't sure how that would go. Also my son got home okay from the hospital yesterday and I spent this afternoon and evening visiting with Him and his family.
On solar lights... do any of you carry those solar yard lights with you to put at the edges of your awning or camp space? I am putting in an order for a couple post lights at home and got to thinking about that. I have run across some at Amazon.com that were really reasonable and if I order over $25, then its free shipping. I thought it might be a nice investment. What do you all think?
Thanks for stopping by

I'm happy you made the birthday OK they can be tough. And your son is home and you got to spend the day with him. You must be on cloud nine to know he is doing well.
ReplyDeleteSolar lights can add a lot to a camp site. Most of my neighbors here have them. Some are those that change colors and are really cute. Some are just the white light. I have seen the little ones in many stores for under $2. Another neighbor just had a porch built and she has those cap lights on each post. They are really pretty.
Maybe next year I will get some of the little post ones. Can't wait to see pictures of yours.
Glad your September 7th is behind for another year. They say each year gets easier. Having only been through one of them so far I don't truly know.
ReplyDeleteOne of the bases where we cap with Scouts has them along the road. At first I was surprised to see them because that is a remote area, but then I saw they were solar powered. How handy!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear you weathered your husband's birthday and that your son made it home safely. Prayers up that he continues to mend.
ReplyDeleteI've had a few solar lights and really liked them, but they didn't last long. But then, I left them out all the time. One filled up with rain water eventually but did last about 2 years.
I just found one on Amazon I think I might get. There are two different solar SPOTlights offered. One of those would be really nice aimed at my front door. My car lights usually go out just as I'm climbing the stairs to enter my rig after dark. Having one of those would prevent me from fumbling around in the dark as I've been doing. The other lights don't really give off enough light to make much of a difference in that regard.
Sunny, the lights sound like a great idea! Those and twinkle lights hanging all around the top of your RV! haha!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you got through the birthday alright. I know it must be tough to go through those special days without your husband. I pray they will get easier to bear over time.
I think the lights are a great idea...I almost picked some up at Target today..they were 75% off..wish I would have. Anniversary days are the hardest for all us...sometimes it is just to stay in bed and read the day away!..take care
ReplyDeleteBless your heart, birthdays and holidays are hard I am sure. Hope your son is doing better. Love the lights!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you made it through the day ok. It's got to be terribly hard at times, but it's so wonderful that you had the relationship that you did.
ReplyDeleteGlad your son is doing better. Solar lights, I have a few, but don't use them here. I had one that I did use, but none of them seem to make it through an entire night. They do make nice quiet light for a few hours after dark though. You can pick those up anywhere. Especially this time of year as the big box stores are clearing out their summer items.
